Super: the Life and Work of Barbara Stauffacher Solomon.
A collection of interviews, articles and photographs of Bobbie and her legacy made into a book.
Purposely chose big, blocky typefaces to reflect her big style.
Focused on ease of reading and maintaining visual interest.
I wanted to make the cover big, bold, and attractive without necessarily letting the viewer know what it was right off the bat. Like Bobbie's legendary designs, bold choices and bright colors and contrast was a goal.
It was important to me to keep the text readable and clean while offering a fun and unique way to appreciate Bobbie's work. The folios were cast to their side and the text kept clean so that the imagery would stand out.
Included throughout the book are images of her work and her story, paying tribute to a trailblazer of a designer.
I had fun taking photos of the book, making it seem larger than life.
The back cover and the front cover side by side.
How the books look stacked together with the front cover facing up.
